Afinando o olhar : cinco edições de um livro-imagem, leituras e mediações sensíveis

Abstract

Esta dissertação se estrutura em torno do seguinte questionamento: como as materialidades influenciam na percepção sensível no livro-imagem ilustrado - a partir da leitura dos diversos projetos gráfico-editoriais em línguas diferentes do livro Diapasón, da Laëtitia Devernay? O objetivo geral é analisar o mesmo livro-imagem em diferentes edições - Diapasón (Devernay, 2012), Applaus (Devernay, 2011), The Conductor (Devernay, 2011), Concerto per alberi (Devernay, 2019) e Diapason (Devernay, 2011) observando e comparando de que modo as materialidades em suas diferentes organizações gráficas modificam a narrativa e revelam efeitos de sentido diversos mediando a leitura de maneiras também diferentes. A metodologia de análise associa-se à perspectiva teórica com base na perspectiva das semióticas discursiva e plástica observando a produção de sentido da materialidade narrativa, e da sociossemiótica associando interação e sentido. A análise das diversas edições permitiu refletir e categorizar os diferentes tipos de livros-imagem existentes, além de observar como as distintas materialidades possibilitam efeitos de sentido diversos, integrando no ato de ler todos os sentidos além da visão. Quem lê torna-se cocriador da narrativa, percebendo as variadas possibilidades sensíveis e inteligíveis de um livro-imagem.

This thesis is structured around the following question: how do materialities influence the sensitive perception in the illustrated image book - based on the reading of the different graphic-editorial projects in different languages of the book Diapasón, by Laëtitia Devernay? The general objective is to analyze the same wordless picturebook in different editions - Diapasón (Devernay, 2012), Applaus (Devernay, 2011), The Conductor (Devernay, 2011), Concerto per alberi (Devernay, 2019) and Diapason (Devernay, 2011) observing and comparing how materialities in their different graphic organizations modify the narrative and reveal different meaning effects, mediating reading in different ways. The analysis methodology is associated with the theoretical perspective based on the perspective of discursive and plastic semiotics observing the production of meaning from narrative materiality, and sociosemiotics associating interaction and meaning. The analysis of the different editions allowed us to reflect and categorize the different types of existing picture books, in addition to observing how the different materialities enable different meaning effects, integrating all the senses in addition to vision in the act of reading. Whoever reads becomes a co-creator of the narrative, perceiving the varied sensitive and intelligible possibilities of the wordless picturebook.
