A inevitável Interdependência Complexa : como a Sociedade Internacional supera crises e transforma a democracia

Abstract

O presente trabalho afirma que existem dois grandes eventos a serem enfrentados pela Sociedade Internacional. O primeiro diz respeito a questões ambientais e sanitárias globais, enquanto o segundo se refere à Revolução Tecnológica em ato. Estes eventos podem modificar a ideia que temos da democracia. Através da Interdependência Complexa, analisa-se como os Estados podem agir para proporcionar uma democracia melhor a seus cidadãos. Para isso, foram delineadas três reformas que deveriam ocorrer: renovação e ajustes institucionais nas organizações internacionais; mudança de sistema de governo; institutos que permitem a participação popular no processo de decisão. Portanto, argumenta-se que as pessoas têm um papel importante no processo político, que é frequentemente confuso e bagunçado para elas. Ainda assim, indivíduos singulares e comunidades locais têm o poder de agir utilizando-se de iniciativas diretas e conjugadas de participação popular. Como resultado, as pessoas estão propensas a serem mais felizes cultivando laços mais fortes de cultura e tradição em uma democracia sã.

The present work affirms that there are two major events to be faced by International Society. The first relates to environmental and health global issues, while the second refers to the Technological Revolution in action. These events can shape our view of democracy first coming. Through the lens of Complex Interdependence, it is analyzed how States can act in order to provide its citizens with a better democracy. For that, it was outlined that there are three different good reforms that should occur: institutional renovation and adjustments in international organizations; change in the system of government, and institutes that enable popular participation in the decision-making process. Therefore, it is argued that the people play an important role in the political process, which is frequently confusing and messy for them. Nevertheless, single individuals and communities have the power to take action by using direct and conjugated initiatives of political participation. As a result, people are likely to be happier cultivating stronger bonds of culture and tradition in a sane democracy.
