O processo de escolarização de crianças e adolescentes com leucemia

Abstract

Esta pesquisa tem como tema central o processo de escolarização de crianças e adolescentes com leucemia. São investigados os procedimentos usados pela escola, através da equipe diretiva e pedagógica, na (re)inserção de alunos-pacientes. Neste estudo são consideradas as pessoas que desempenham as funções de diretor(a) e vice, coordenador(a) pedagógica e orientador(a) educacional da equipe diretiva; assim como a equipe pedagógica é composta por professores que trabalharam com o aluno-paciente. O tema é investigado sob a ótica da teoria de Piaget para compreender como a escola, através de sua equipe diretiva e de um ou dois professores, indicados por esta equipe, representa este aluno-paciente, pois acredita-se que este é um conhecimento construído e como tal passa pelo mesmo processo estudado pela Epistemologia Genética chegando a tomada de consciência. A pesquisa é composta por dois estudos complementares. O primeiro, exploratório, na modalidade de Estado da Arte sobre o tema “escolarização de crianças e adolescentes com leucemia”; e um segundo estudo, descritivo, no formato de Estudo de Casos múltiplos sobre os procedimentos de (re)inserção dos alunos-pacientes do ICI nas escolas em que estudam. Os dados para análise foram coletados através de: a) questionários enviados às escolas participantes e; b) aprofundamento das respostas coletadas através de entrevista semiestruturadas com membros da equipe diretiva e professor(es) destas escolas da Rede de Ensino de Porto Alegre incluidas nos critérios estabelecidos e que aceitaram participar da pesquisa. Como resultados são apresentados cinco temas fundamentais: a) o direito à educação e o abandono escolar; b) facilidades e dificuldades encontradas para atender à legislação; c) contribuições para a construção de conhecimento sobre a (re)inserção escolar; d) estratégias de (re)inserção encontradas nas pesquisas; e) atuação da equipe multidisciplinar na (re)inserção escolar. Apesar do pequeno número de escolas participantes no Estudo de Casos, as convergências encontradas nos remetem à possibilidade de generalização analítica, ou seja, examinar o quanto corroboram com as proposições teóricas que nortearam a pesquisa. Assim como foi possível compreender que este tema não faz parte do rol de discussões nessas escolas, embora atendam diversos alunos-pacientes com doenças graves ou crônicas. Isso demonstra que tal tema precisa de mais pesquisas e deve ser levado às escolas para que possam atender, com maior êxito, crianças e adolescentes adoecidos e ausentes da escola.

This research has as its central theme the schooling process of children and adolescents with leukemia. The procedures used by the school, through the directive and pedagogical team, for the (re)entry of student-patients are investigated. In this study, are considered the people who perform the functions of director and vice, pedagogical coordinator, and educational advisor of the directive team as well as the pedagogical team composed of teachers who worked with the student-patient. The theme is investigated from the perspective of Piaget's theory, to understand how the school, through its management team and one or two teachers, appointed by this team, represents this student-patient, as it is believed that this is knowledge building and as such it go through the same process studied by Genetic Epistemology, reaching an awareness. The research consists of two complementary studies. The first, exploratory, in the State of the Art modality on the theme “schooling of children and adolescents with leukemia”; and a second, descriptive study, in the Multiple Case Study format on the procedures for the (re)insertion of ICI student-patients in the schools in which they study. The data for analysis were collected through a) questionnaires sent to the participating schools and b) deepening of the answers collected through semi-structured interviews with members of the management team and teacher(s) of these schools in the Porto Alegre Education Network included in the established criteria and who accepted to participate in the research. As a result, five fundamental themes are presented: a) the right to education and school dropout; b) facilities and difficulties encountered to comply with the legislation; c) contributions to the construction of knowledge about school (re)entry; d) strategies of (re)entry found in the research; e) performance of the multidisciplinary team in school (re)entry. Despite the small number of schools participating in the Case Study, the convergences found lead us to the possibility of analytical generalization, that is, to examine how much they corroborate with the theoretical propositions that guided the research. As well as it was possible to understand that this theme is not part of the list of discussions in these schools, even though they serve several student-patients with serious or chronic diseases. This demonstrates that this topic needs more research and should be taken to schools so that they can attend, more successfully, children and adolescents who are sick and absent from school.
