This work caracterizes the structural crisis of capital (MÉSZÁROS, 2011); the uneven and combined development (TROTSKY, 1994), which corroborates with the origins and the specificity of Brazil as a country of dependent capitalism (FERNANDES, 2009); and the state under the neoliberal ideology (RIZZOTTO,2008; FONSECA,2010) next to the productive reestructuring (flexible model) and its consequences on the social function of the school and the demands in the world of work. In this way, assuming the historical and dialectical materiality of reality, we developed a research on the conditions and perspectives of adolescence with students between 15 and 18 years old, transferred from the common elementary school to the elementary school in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality, in a public school of Canoas/RS. Considering the laws that grant this right and the significant proportion of school enrollments at the municipal level, we also seek to analyze the consequences of this insertion regarding the formation of subjects and its implications in the context of the modality. This research is inserted in the field Work and Education, therefore, is based on the category work, in Marx, and on the historical-dialectical materialism (FRIGOTTO, 1989b; PALUDO, 2018) and their categories of analysis. It refers to the adolescence of the working class, understanding them as subjects of rights (ECA), inserted in the capitalist school, which has inscribed in itself an important contradiction about its social role. Thus, given the inclusion of the author as a teacher in the context, we developed a case study (GIL,2008), through a questionnaire (GIL,2008) and a conversation wheel (ALVES, 2016) with the adolescents, as well as two semi-structured interviews (DESLANDES; MINAYO, 2008) with their leading teachers. In the midst of our theoretical, ethical-political assumptions and the manifestations of this experience, we have constructed an argumentative line with the possible re-readings in this local context and the necessary mediations in this/of this historical time. With this, deepening our analysis on the set of elements that make up the reality of these adolescents and the EJA in this school, we realize a materialization of the concept of precariat (BRAGA, 2012). Finally, in this perspective, understanding a school as a fundamental place in the dispute for working capital, we reaffirm the importance of praxis in pedagogical work (FRIZZO, 2008), especially with regard to the vital objective of contributing to the analysis of reality through its transformation.en
