O presente trabalho versa sobre o princípio da supremacia do interesse público sobre o interesse particular, comumente tido, no direito brasileiro, como um dos alicerces do Direito Administrativo. Pretende-se investigar se tal princípio realmente existe no ordenamento jurídico pátrio. Para tanto, examinam-se, em sede introdutória, os conceitos de princípio jurídico e de interesse público, além de se descrever brevemente o surgimento e o desenvolvimento do debatido princípio na ordem jurídica pátria. Em seguida, passa-se às considerações críticas sobre o tema, tendo por escopo abordar os principais argumentos que lhe são pertinentes. The present work examines the principle of supremacy of public interest over private interest, commonly considered, in Brazilian Law, as one of the pillars of Administrative Law. It intends to investigate if such principle really exists within Brazilian Law.
