Maternidade e saúde da criança na perspectiva da pastoral da criança : uma abordagem de gênero

Abstract

O presente estudo inscreve-se no campo teórico dos Estudos Culturais e de Gênero e procurou ao longo da pesquisa investigar como são posicionadas as mulheres-mães sobre a relação entre maternidade e saúde da criança, nos textos dos materiais impressos do organismo de ação social, a Pastoral da Criança. Os objetos escolhidos para a realização da análise foram o “Guia da Pastoral da Criança”, que serve como ferramenta principal nos cursos de capacitação ministrados às líderes da Pastoral e também o conjunto de cartelas de nome “Laços de Amor”, utilizado pelas líderes durante suas visitas domiciliares às mulheres gestantes da comunidade atendida e, posteriormente, no acompanhamento dos recém nascidos, até completarem o 5º mês de vida. Tanto o “Guia da Pastoral da Criança” quanto o conjunto de cartelas “Laços de Amor” contêm ensinamentos de como ser uma ‘boa mãe’ e, por esta razão, foram tratados nesta pesquisa como sendo artefatos culturais pedagógicos. A metodologia utilizada foi a análise textual, sob a ótica dos Estudos Culturais, fazendo emergir saberes que naturalizam representações de maternidade naquele contexto da Pastoral, posicionando e normatizando as mulheres-mães como as principais responsáveis pela saúde da criança.

The present study integrates the theoretical field of Cultural and Gender Studies. Our goal was to evaluate how the women-mother are placed in the relationship between maternity and child health in the context of the press material from the Social Action Organism, called Child Pastoral. The material used in this analysis was the Child Pastoral Guide that is the principal tool for the formation of the leaders of the Pastoral and, the sheets called “Love Ties” that are used by the leaders during the visitation to the pregnant women in the community and also after the child birth during at least five to six months. Both, the Child Pastoral Guide and the sheets “Love Ties” contain lessons that teach women how to be a good mother and, because of this, the material was used in this research as an artifact, cultural and training material. The methodology used was the text analysis under the optics of the Cultural Studies looking for knowledge and maternity representations on the context of the Child Pastoral that positioning and regulating the women-mother as the principal responsible for the child health.
