Abstract

Através deste trabalho, mostro a possibilidade de aliar histórias em quadrinhos (HQs) à aprendizagem de matemática, uma vez que este gênero literário, além de divertir, pode servir de base para que os estudantes desenvolvam o senso de análise, a criticidade e o raciocínio lógico-matemático através de conceitos matemáticos abordados. Por este motivo, elaborei uma proposta didática baseada em histórias em quadrinhos, de minha autoria, e voltada para o ensino de matemática em duas turmas de 7ª série do Colégio de Aplicação da UFRGS. Através das HQs criadas trabalhei com conteúdos matemáticos envolvendo o pensamento lógico e as operações aritméticas, além de incentivar a produção escrita e a organização do pensamento matemático. Também trabalhei com a possibilidade dos estudantes criarem suas próprias histórias em quadrinhos a partir das relações matemáticas trabalhadas. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar as reações e interpretações dos estudantes sobre as histórias em quadrinhos, bem como o papel que estas desempenharam para a construção da aprendizagem dos estudantes. A partir do estudo realizado, a utilização de histórias em quadrinhos com o objetivo de ensinar matemática mostrou ser uma ferramenta importante que aproxima a vida escolar da vida diária dos estudantes. Além disso, os estudantes se mostraram encorajados no estudo da matemática o que possibilita a criação de um relacionamento agradável que facilita a compreensão dos conteúdos. A utilização dos quadrinhos em sala de aula não pretende ser uma metodologia única, mas sim uma opção para auxiliar na aprendizagem matemática.

Through this paper, I show the possibility of joining stories in comics to the mathematical learning, once this literary genre, besides of entertaining, can be used as a base so that the students can develop the sense of analysis, the criticality and the logical/mathematical reasoning through mathematical concepts approached. Because of this reason, I’ve elaborated a didactic proposal based in stories in comics, by my authorship, and turned to the teaching of mathematics in two classes of 7th grade at Colégio de Aplicação of UFRGS. Through the stories in comics created, I’ve worked with mathematical contents covering the logical thought and the arithmetic operations, besides of encouraging the writing production and the mathematical thought organization. I’ve also worked with the possibility of the creation of the students’ own stories in comics from the mathematical relations worked. This research’s objective has been to analyze the students’ reactions and interpretations about the stories in comics, just as the role that these reactions and interpretations have performed to the students’ learning construction. By the study accomplished, the use of the stories in comics, with the goal of teaching mathematics, has shown being an important tool that brings the students’ school life near their daily life. Besides this, the students have shown encouraged in the study of mathematics and create a pleasant relationship that facilitates understanding of contents. The use of the comics in class doesn’t intend to be a unique methodology, but an option to assist in the mathematical learning.
