A efetividade do projeto promotoras legais populares no município de Canoas/RS

Abstract

O presente trabalho se destina a examinar como a atuação das Promotoras Legais Populares contribui para a redução da violência contra à mulher. O objetivo do estudo foi responder se o trabalho desempenhado pelas Promotoras Legais Populares da Cidade de Canoas/RS tem, efetivamente, auxiliado na diminuição da violência contra à mulher, integrando a Rede de Enfrentamento À Violência Contra a Mulher na mesma Cidade. Nesse sentido, para execução da presente pesquisa, realizou-se um levantamento bibliográfico acerca dos principais aportes da metodologia do curso de promotoras Legais Populares, de iniciativa da Organização Não Governamental Themis - Gênero, Justiça e Direitos Humanos, a educação jurídica popular e feminista. Em um segundo momento, realizou-se a análise do curso realizado na cidade de Canoas e, após o curso, a atuação concreta das Promotoras Legais Populares na Rede de Enfrentamento à Violência Contra a Mulher da Cidade de Canoas, referência no acolhimento de mulheres e meninas em situação de violência doméstica e familiar.

This paper aims to examine how the performance of Popular Legal Promoters contributes to the reduction of violence against women. The objective of the study was to answer if the work performed by the Popular Legal Promoters of the City of Canoas/RS has effectively assisted in the reduction of violence against women, integrating the Support Network for Violence Against Women in the same City. Therefore, to carry out this research, a bibliographic survey was conducted on the main contributions of the methodology of the Popular Legal Promoters course, initiative of the Non-Governmental Organization Themis - Gender, Justice and Human Rights, popular and feminist legal education. Secondly, the analysis of the course held in the city of Canoas was carried out and, after the course, the concrete action of the Popular Legal Promoters in Canoas’ Violence Against Women Support Network, a reference in the reception of women and girls in situations of domestic and family violence.
