This study aims to analyze the operation of intertextuality in journalistic narratives in order to understand how this linguistic mecanism, which designates the dialogue among texts, has influence in the meaning construction process. Our object is the column of the Brazilian journalist Bernardo Carvalho in Instituto Moreira Salles’ blog. The corpus includes the texts published between the launch of the column, in June 2014, and the beginning of the development of this work, in March 2015. Based on the intertextual references identified in the texts, this research sought to analyze how intertextuality operates in the narratives by creating different effects of meaning. As methodology, it was used the French Speech Analysis, theoretical concept that defines speech as the meaning effect between subjects. From the analysis, the research identified three types of explict intertextuality – direct quotes, hiperlinks and references – e four types of implicit intertextuality – popular sayings, intratextual references, ironies and alusions. ...
