The objective of this project is to develop an active control of vibrations in cantilever beams through piezoelectric sensors and actuators. The piezoelectric effect arises from the capability of certain crystals generates voltage in response to the mechanical pressure, as well as the reverse effect. Therefore, with piezoelectric transducers in combination with a control loop, is possible to implement an active control of vibrations. The control is done through the Matlab software in conjunction with the dSPACE DS1104 board, which will interface the analog/digital and digital/analog of control loop. The system will be modeled mathematically and, after that, a parametric identification is made experimentally by applying the PRBS signal at the input of the system and using the method of least squares. With the plant determined, the controllers will be designed by the method of allocation of poles. Lastly, experiments will be performed to prove the efficiency of this method. ...
