A diversidade étnico-racial, cultural e suas repercussões no ambiente escolar

Abstract

O presente trabalho reflete sobre como foram e são construídas as relações raciais dentro do espaço escolar e como elas contribuem para a formação de uma comunidade voltada à promoção da igualdade de direitos. Investiga de que forma os professores da EMEF Sen. Salgado Filho auxiliam na busca para a formação de uma educação voltada a esse fim. A metodologia utilizada foi a pesquisa de campo realizada com alunos e professores, a fim de compreender como está se efetivando o desenvolvimento da Lei 10639/2003 na escola, o conhecimento dos professores sobre tal Lei, a identificação ou não de práticas discriminatórias das questões étnico-raciais, e especialmente a mudança de postura dos alunos do 5º ano (9)B, após o projeto África desenvolvido durante primeiro semestre de 2010. Para alcançar tais objetivos, reportou-se aos estudos de Paulo Freire, principalmente no que se refere à rejeição a qualquer forma de discriminação e à interdisciplina questões étnico-raciais na educação.

This paper reflects on how were and how are built the racial relationships within the school space and how they contribute to the formation of a community towards the promotion of the equal rights. It investigates how teachers, from EMEF Sen. Salgado Filho School, aid in the search to the building of an education towards the equal rights. The methodology was based on a field research carried out with students and school teachers, in order to understand how the development of the Law 10639/2003 is going on within the school; if the teachers are aware of such Law; and, to indentify or not discriminatory actions of the ethno-racial issues, and, mainly, the changing of attitude of the 9(B)-fifth-grade students, after the Africa project has been developed during the first term in 2010. To achieve such goals, the paper reports to Paulo Freire’s studies, especially as regards the rejection of any form of discrimination and, as well, the interdisciplinary ethno-racial issues in education.
