Trabalho docente na educação superior em educação física : narrativas de professores de universidades comunitárias

Abstract

Esta tese de doutorado tem como tema de pesquisa o trabalho docente na educação superior em Educação Física em universidades comunitárias. Neste sentido, este estudo tem como objetivo geral compreender a construção do trabalho docente de professores de Educação Física na educação superior em universidades comunitárias da região oeste de Santa Catarina. Derivado deste objetivo geral, os seguintes objetivos específicos: a) Descrever a compreensão dos professores referentes ao seu trabalho docente na educação superior em universidades comunitárias; b) Reconhecer e caracterizar os espaços e demandas de trabalho docente no educação superior; c) Compreender as transformações da universidade comunitária na contemporaneidade e suas implicações no trabalho docente de professores de Educação Física; e d) Descrever o trabalho docente na educação superior em período de pandemia de Covid-19. A proposta metodológica estruturouse a partir da abordagem da pesquisa qualitativa apoiado pela narrativa oral. O grupo de colaboradores foi constituído por nove professores titulares do quadro docente de três cursos de Educação Física de duas universidades comunitárias localizadas na região oeste do estado de Santa Catarina. A obtenção das informações aconteceram pela entrevista semiestruturada e o tratamento e análise interpretativa das informações por intermédio de categorias de análise, construídas a partir de unidades de significados. O estudo é organizado em capítulos, articulados entre si, a fim de possibilitar melhores condições de profundidade nas argumentações de sustentação das discussões propostas. No primeiro capítulo é apresentando o marco teórico do estudo. No segundo capítulo é adentrando no campo da universidade, suas compreensões no contemporâneo e a universidade comunitária, assim como compreensões introdutórias sobre o trabalho docente, para em seguida dialogar com o trabalho docente na educação superior em Educação Física. No terceiro capítulo é apresentado os caminhos teóricos-metodológicos que a pesquisa seguiu. No quarto capítulo, de forma sistematizada, é descrita a análise e interpretação dos diálogos construídos com os professores; os quais compreendem que seu trabalho docente na educação superior tem acontecido, principalmente, pelo ensino, seguido pelas orientações de trabalhos de pesquisas acadêmicas, funções administrativas e, em menor incidência, atividades de extensão. Derivado da oscilação da carga horária de trabalho semestral na universidade comunitária, os professores, em sua maioria, possuem outros vínculos empregatícios além do trabalho docente na docente na educação superior. Esse cenário tem gestado um processo de intensificação do trabalho docente levando em conta a carga horária de trabalho semanal e as complexidades dos diferentes espaços. O cenário de intensificação do trabalho docente na educação superior vai de encontro com as transformações que a universidade comunitária tem assumido no contemporâneo, pautadas em estratégias empresariais de gestão e administração na intenção da sua sustentabilidade financeira e manutenção no contexto da educação superior. Por fim, apresentamos as considerações finais com as sínteses desta investigação.

This doctoral thesis has as its research theme the teaching work in higher education in Physical Education in community universities. In this sense, this study has the general objective of understanding the construction of the teaching work of Physical Education professor in higher education in community universities in the Santa Catarina western region. Derived from this general objective, the following specific objectives: a) Describe the understanding of professors regarding their teaching work in higher education in community universities; b) Recognize and characterize the spaces and demands of teaching work in higher education; c) Understand the transformations of the community university in contemporary times and their implications for the teaching work of Physical Education teachers; and d) Describe teaching work in higher education during the Covid-19 pandemic. The methodological proposal was structured from the approach of qualitative research supported by oral narrative. The group of collaborators consisted of nine professors who are professors of three Physical Education courses at two community universities located in the Santa Catarina western region. Obtaining information took place through a semi-structured interview and the treatment and interpretative analysis of the information through categories of analysis, constructed from units of meaning. The study is organized into chapters, articulated with each other, in order to enable better conditions of depth in the arguments that support the proposed discussions. The first chapter presents the theoretical framework of the study. The second chapter enters into the field of the university, its understandings of the contemporary and the community university, as well as introductory understandings about teaching work, to then dialogue with teaching work in higher education in Physical Education. The third chapter presents the theoretical-methodological paths that the research followed. In the fourth chapter, in a systematic way, the analysis and interpretation of the dialogues built with the teachers is described; who understand that their teaching work in higher education has been mainly through teaching, followed by the guidelines of academic research works, administrative functions and, to a lesser extent, extension activities. Derived from the oscillation of the semester workload at the community university, most professors have other employment relationships in addition to the teaching work in higher education professors. This scenario has generated a process of intensification of teaching work, taking into account the weekly workload and the complexities of the different spaces. The scenario of intensification of teaching work in higher education is in line with the transformations that the community university has assumed in the contemporary, based on business management and administration strategies with the intention of its financial sustainability and maintenance in the context of higher education. Finally, we present the final considerations with the syntheses of this investigation.
