This study seeks to analyze the access that hearing mothers of deaf children in situations of social vulnerability have to information about Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), based on reports from existing studies. This involves understanding how these mothers acquire knowledge about the language and the barriers they encounter in this process. Initially, I recount my own journey towards Libras, which highlights the importance of information and support for these mothers. Subsequently, to ensure this work is accessible to all readers, I provide brief explanations of key concepts related to the "Deaf world." Following a bibliographic review of studies addressing this topic, I present selected excerpts from mothers' testimonies. These searches are essential to gather pertinent data on the challenges, barriers, and experiences these mothers face when confronted with a diagnosis of deafness. The identified reports align with other correlated research lines, yet they sufficiently highlight the need for a more in-depth investigation to thoroughly understand the paths these mothers navigate. The analysis of this data can provide valuable insights for developing strategies and policies that enhance these mothers' access to Libras, thereby improving communication and inclusion of their deaf children in society. Thus, this bibliographic exploration aims to reveal that information about Libras is not being adequately communicated to mothers. In this ongoing conclusion, which extends beyond the scope of this bibliographic study, I propose the continuation of research with further developments, focusing on deepening the accounts and experiences of these mothers in relation to other perspectives and needs. This includes studying the experiences of mothers of deaf children and their interactions with different agents of formal and informal education, healthcare, the arts, and other spaces that contribute to the knowledge of the Deaf community. ...
