Relações paterno-filiais : perspectivas de filhos de pais gays

Abstract

O presente estudo teve como objetivo investigar relações paterno-filiais da perspectiva de filhos de pais gays. Mais especificamente, pretendeu-se analisar histórias de vida de filhos de pais gays examinando como se dão as relações entre esses familiares e quais são as implicações da configuração familiar homoparental masculina nas experiências de vida desses filhos. Buscou-se tensionar reflexões acerca dessas relações familiares, especialmente no que se refere às questões de gênero, verificando atravessamentos das masculinidades nas narrativas dos participantes. Participaram do estudo cinco jovens brasileiros, homens cisgênero heterossexuais, filhos de pai(s) gay(s), com idades entre 15 e 23 anos. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo exploratório, em modelo de caso múltiplo. Cada participante foi entrevistado individualmente utilizando a técnica da entrevista narrativa. Os relatos foram submetidos à análise temática, que originou dois temas e sete subtemas. Como principais resultados, destacam-se os vínculos afetivos entre os filhos e seus pais e a comunicação aberta por parte dos pais, especialmente sobre sexualidade, mesmo que influenciada por características individuais dos jovens. Os filhos também buscam apoio em outras figuras significativas, sem enfraquecer o vínculo com os pais. Na escola, surgem desafios como a discriminação e a necessidade de se adaptar a um ambiente ainda heteronormativo. Os jovens desenvolvem estratégias para enfrentar o preconceito, que impacta a formação de suas identidades sociais e a construção de suas masculinidades. Ressalta-se a persistência de normas de gênero tradicionais na sociedade e como a discriminação contra os pais alcança as experiências dos filhos.

The present study aimed to investigate father-son relationships from the perspectives of sons of gay fathers. More specifically, this work analyzed the life stories of sons of gay fathers, examining how the relationships among these family members are developed and the implications of the male homoparental family structure on the life experiences of these sons. The study sought to provoke reflections on these family relationships, particularly concerning gender issues, examining the intersections of masculinities in the participants' narratives. Five young Brazilian cisgender heterosexual men, aged between 15 and 23, sons of gay father(s), participated in the study. This is an exploratory qualitative study which uses a multiple case model. Each participant was individually interviewed using the narrative interview technique. The reports were submitted to thematic analysis, which resulted in two main themes and seven subthemes. The main findings highlight the affective bonds between sons and their fathers and the open communication from the fathers, especially regarding sexuality, although influenced by individual characteristics of the young participants. The sons also seek support from other significant figures without weakening their bond with their fathers. In the school environment, challenges such as discrimination and the need to adapt to a still heteronormative setting arise. The young participants develop strategies to cope with prejudice, which impacts the formation of their social identities and the construction of their masculinities. The study emphasizes the persistence of traditional gender norms in society and how discrimination against the fathers extends to the experiences of their sons.
