A Peridynamic (PD) model is proposed for the fracture failure simulation of single-phase and composite materials with a quasi-brittle behaviour under Mixed-Mode loading. More precisely, the novelty of the proposed model consists in taking into account the dissipated energy related to both the damage produced by material degradation and the damage produced by frictional sliding along rough crack surfaces. More precisely, the frictional sliding is taken into account within the model by a novel bond force-stretch relationship, where the rupture stretch related to a generic bond under tension is made depend on the level of compression of the adjacent bonds. Such a PD model is employed to simulate some experimental tests available in the literature.en
