O dispositivo Therolinguística : abordagens e leituras artístico-curatoriais em um planeta em mutação

Abstract

Nesta pesquisa, busca-se examinar as relações entre práticas curatoriais, produção artística e as mutações na Terra que caracterizam a possível época geológica do Antropoceno. A partir de uma pesquisa exploratória, guiada pelo relato curatorial da 7ª edição do Festival Kino Beat, realizado no ano de 2021 em Porto Alegre, destaca-se a descoberta da Therolinguística, a ciência ficcional que estuda e traduz a linguagem dos animais, como um dispositivo para artistas e curadores criarem as suas leituras e abordagens ao/no Antropoceno. Na análise da prática curatorial do autor desta pesquisa, e do discurso curatorial de três Bienais de arte, surgem apontamentos sobre a curadoria contemporânea e a possível emergência de um perfil de curador multinaturalista, agente atento a outras formas de perceber a relação entre natureza e cultura em projetos artístico-curatoriais colaborativos. Com os estudos de caso, o filme ARAR e as peças sonoras da Cooperativa da Escuta em Narrativas Sonoras, criados no âmbito da mesma 7ª edição do Festival, observa-se a Therolinguística aplicada em territórios ameaçados pelos conflitos do Antropoceno, as potências e os limites das ações poéticas estudadas em propor outras formas de percebê-los e enfrentá-los.

This research seeks to examine the relationships between curatorial practices, artistic production, and Earth's transformations that characterize the possible geological epoch of the Anthropocene. Through exploratory research, guided by the curatorial account of the 7th edition of the Kino Beat Festival, held in 2021 in Porto Alegre, the discovery of Therolinguistics, — a fictional science studying and translating animal language — stands out as a tool for artists and curators to create their interpretations and approaches to/in the Anthropocene. In analyzing the author’s curatorial practice in this research, along with the curatorial discourse of three art biennials, insights emerge about contemporary curating and the possible rise of a multinaturalist curator profile: an agent attentive to alternative ways of perceiving the relationship between nature and culture in collaborative artistic-curatorial projects. Through case studies, including the film ARAR and the sound pieces of the Listening Cooperative in Sound Narratives ( Cooperativa da Escuta em Narrativas Sonoras), created within the same 7th edition of the Festival, Therolinguistics is observed as applied to territories threatened by Anthropocene conflicts, along with the potential and limitations of the poetic actions studied in proposing other ways to perceive and confront them.
