Do uso tradicionalda terra à biopolítica e as formas de resistência de Manoel da Conceição

Abstract

Manoel da Conceição Santos foi um líder negro que lutou contra a expropriação das terras de lavradores(as) do vale do rio Pindaré, durante a ditadura civil-militar. Composta por maioria não-branca, a população da região foi criando modos de vida que possibilizassem a sobrevivência quando adentravam na floresta amazônica. Estes modos de vida se opunham à modernização da agricultura levada a cabo pelos governos militares. Contra a biopolítica, ou seja, a gestão da vida pelos cálculos militares, Manoel da Conceição usou seu corpo biológico e fez dele política, uma biopolítica menor. Este artigo buscou compreender a vida como política desta liderança, a partir, principalmente, de um livro no qual suas memórias impedem que o arquivo de construção de comuns no oeste maranhense seja esquecido.

Manoel da Conceição Santos was a black leader who fought against the expropriation of the lands of farmers of the Pindaré river valley during the civil-military dictatorship. Composed of a non-white majority, the population of the region was creating ways of life that could be survival when they entered the Amazon rainforest. These ways of life were opposed to themodernization of agriculture carried out by military governments. Against biopolitics, that is, the management of life by military calculations, Manoel da Conceição used his biological body and made it a minor biopolitics. This article sought to understand life as a policy of this leadership, mainly from a book in which his memories prevent the archive of construction of common in the west of Maranhão from being forgotten.
