Nova Senda Socialista : a história da Organização Revolucionária Marxista – Política Operária (ORM-PO)

Abstract

Esta tese apresenta os resultados de uma pesquisa sobre a história da Organização Revolucionária Marxista – Política Operária (ORM-PO). Identificada como matriarca da “nova esquerda”, mais do que uma expressão contestatória à hegemonia do PCB, realinhando um lugar já ocupado há décadas por organizações trotskistas, o surgimento da Polop – sigla pela qual a organização tornou-se conhecida – criou uma nova senda no movimento socialista nacional. Preocupado em averiguar o processo de formação, construção de coesão e cisão da ORM-PO, esse trabalho responde as seguintes questões: Quais condicionantes históricos permitiram a formação de uma organização como a Polop? Que unidade programática a organização conseguiu atingir em suas pretensões coesionadoras? E, finalmente, porque ela cindiu em 1967? As teses aqui sustentadas defendem que a gestação da Polop só foi possível devido um conjunto de mudanças no campo marxista que inauguraram um novo momento na história do marxismo brasileiro, e que a organização já se encontrava suficientemente coesionada quando a nova conjuntura política promovida pelo golpe de 1964 impôs divergências profundas o suficiente para desagregar os princípios gerais que a coesionaram em sua formação, levando-a ao seu inescapável colapso.

This thesis presents the results of a research on the history of the Marxist Revolutionary Organization - Workers Policy (ORM-PO). Identified as the matriarch of the “new left”, more than a contesting expression to the PCB's hegemony, realigning a place already occupied for decades by Trotskyist organizations, the rise of Polop - an acronym for which the organization became known - created a new path in the national socialist movement. Concerned with investigating the formation process, building cohesion and splitting the ORM-PO, this work answers the following questions: What historical conditions allowed the formation of an organization like Polop? What programmatic unit did the organization manage to achieve in its cohesive pretensions? And finally, why did it split in 1967? The theses supported here argue that gestation Polop was only possible due to a set of changes in the marxist field that inaugurated a new moment in the history of brazilian marxism, and that the organization was already sufficiently cohesive when the new political conjuncture promoted by the coup 1964 imposed divergences deep enough to disaggregate the general principles that cohesion it in its formation, leading to its inescapable collapse.
