Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

This research aims to investigate the relationship between Art mediation and Brazilian Art History undergraduate degrees. To this end, it conceptualizes cultural mediation, discusses some dimensions that revolve around the training of cultural mediators, and elaborates an overview of the working conditions within Art mediation in Brazil. The primary documentary source are the Curricular Course Projects (PPC) of three Brazilian Art History undergraduate courses, offered at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and at the University of Brasília (UnB). In particular, this paper analyzes the profiles of graduates, described in these documents. Based on the understanding that students are active participants in the teaching-learning processes, it also uses semi structured interviews with graduates from theses courses who wrote their senior thesis on Art mediation. This research seeks to articulate ways in which both fields can complement each other, in favor of a more diverse, inclusive and accessible History of Art. More broadly, it aims to discuss how Art Mediation can be a method that allows us to rethink how we conceive the production and circulation of knowledge in Art History. ...
