O imperativo do dever e as reverberações do sociável : juventudes, escola e trabalho nas periferias

Abstract

As problematizações apresentadas neste artigo partem de discussões no âmbito da sociologia das juventudes, destacando a experiência de escolarização entre jovens de localidades de periferia. Tomamos por objetivo analisar as inter-relações entre habitação da escola, interações sociáveis e demandas por trabalho entre estudantes de grupos populares. Para tanto, consideramos as contribuições de Simmel e Martín-Barbero acerca da sociabilidade e da condição juvenil contemporânea, respectivamente. A pesquisa foi realizada em três bairros da cidade de Porto Alegre/RS, entre os anos de 2016 e 2019, junto a estudantes de instituições públicas, fazendo uso da aplicação de questionários, de grupos de discussão e observação in loco. Percebemos a intensa utilização de celulares e redes sociais, havendo uma “mútua afetação” entre o ofício de aluno e a condição de jovem. As dinâmicas relacionais produzidas pelos jovens parecem indicar que ao imperativo moral de responsabilização e independência, muitas vezes associado ao mundo do trabalho, articulam-se de forma tensa disposições estéticas interativo-sociáveis no cotidiano escolar

The problematization presented in this article is engendered from discussions within the sociology of youth, highlighting the experience of schooling among young people from peripheral locations. We aim to analyze the interrelationships between social interactions, school housing and labor demands among students of popular groups. To that end, we have considered the contributions of Simmel and Martín-Barbero to sociability and contemporary youth experiences, respectively. This research was carried out in three neighborhoods of the city of Porto Alegre/RS, between 2016 and 2019, with students from public institutions, by using different techniques: applying questionnaires, deploying discussion groups and observation in loco. We perceive an intense use of cell phones and social networks, for there is a “mutual affectation” between being a student and being a youngster. The relational dynamics produced by young students seems to indicate that the moral imperative of accountability and independence -often associated with the working world- articulates with aesthetic dispositions for sociable interaction in daily school life.
