Sul em contato : um festival de contato improvisação em Porto Alegre, redes de movimentos e pensamentos

Abstract

Propõe-se nesta pesquisa fazer uma reflexão e análise sobre a prática de Contato Improvisação (CI) com ênfase no Projeto Sul em Contato realizado entre março e dezembro de 2009 em Porto Alegre. A pesquisa se desenvolve a partir da descrição de material variado - caderno de anotações de participação observante, blog do Sul em Contato, entrevistas semi-estruturadas com professores e participantes, folders, vídeos e fotos das atividades em aulas, jams e performances - além das motivações de concepção e de organização do evento. As principais referências teóricas são de autores seminais desta forma de movimento - Steve Paxton (1978, 1979, 1987, 1997, 2018), Nancy Stark Smith & David Koteen (2008), Cynthia Novack (1990) - procurando um diálogo com autores e autoras da América do Sul como Marina Tampini (2012), Lela Queiroz (2009), Hugo Leonardo Silva (2012), Diego Pizarro (2011, 2015, 2016) e Suzane Weber (2014). O Sul em Contato foi concebido pelo desejo de fazer crescer o número de praticantes de CI na cidade de Porto Alegre através do aprofundamento técnico nesta forma de dança e uma maior integração com os bailarinos, pesquisadores e professores da Argentina, Uruguai e outros estados brasileiros. Em sua primeira edição o projeto foi realizado na Sala 209 da Usina do Gasômetro em Porto Alegre, com financiamento do Fumproarte da Prefeitura Municipal. A descrição das oficinas estão agrupadas em três núcleos de abordagens que se penetram entre si - princípios, fundamentos e aprofundamentos em CI, educação somática e outras técnicas, composição e performance. O objetivo deste trabalho é fazer um registro histórico, crítico e reflexivo do evento buscando potências de movimentos e pensamentos que ressoaram a partir das práticas dos encontros, em processos individuais e coletivos da rede de praticantes de CI.

It is proposed in this research to make a reflection and analyze the practice of Contact Improvisation (CI) with emphasis on the South in Contact Project held between March and December 2009 in Porto Alegre. The research develops from the description of the varied material - the observer participation notebook, the South in Contact Blog, semi-structured interviews with teachers and participants, folders, videos and photos of classroom activities, jams and performances - beyond the motivations of conception and organization of the event. The main theoretical references are seminal authors of this form of movement - Steve Paxton (1978, 1979, 1987, 1997, 2018), Nancy Stark Smith and David Koteen (2008), Cynthia Novack (1990) - looking for a dialogue with authors from South America such as Marina Tampini (2012), Lela Queiroz (2009), Hugo Leonardo Silva (2012), Diego Pizarro (2011, 2015, 2016) and Suzane Weber (2014). South in Contact was conceived by the desire to increase the number of CI practitioners in the city of Porto Alegre through technical improvement in this form of dance and greater integration with dancers, researchers and teachers from Argentina, Uruguay and other Brazilian states. In its first edition it was held in Room 209 of Usina do Gasometro in Porto Alegre, with funding from the Fumproarte of the City Hall. A description of the workshops is grouped into three overlapping approaches - principles, foundations and depths in CI, somatic education and other techniques, composition and performance. The objective of this paper is to make a historical, critical and reflective record of the event, seeking powers of movement and thoughts that occurred from the practices of the meetings, in individual and collective processes of the network of CI practitioners.
