Estética do frio, uma ontologia visual : ensaio-viagem sobre o ser gaúcho

Abstract

Gaúchos são identificados como um povo com singularidades e diferenças marcantes: sul-rio-grandenses são, antes, gauchos e, depois, brasileiros. O solo e o clima contribuem para esta construção identitária (COSTANTIN, 2004; REOLON, 2008). Neste sentido, o músico e escritor Vitor Ramil destaca da importância de uma “estética do frio”, que caracterizaria este espaço e sua cultura. O frio, definidor do gaúcho (como sinônimo de sul-rio-grandense), produziria, segundo o autor, uma metáfora definidora, principalmente porque toca a todos os habitantes do Rio Grande do Sul, em sua heterogeneidade, um povo de pampa e serra, de indígenas nativos e imigrantes, rural e urbano, de neve e minuano. Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal analisar a “estética do frio”, tal como esboçada teoricamente por Ramil, e a materialização desta noção em seu trabalho artístico – literário e musical. Tal macro análise servirá para, como objetivo específico, investigar a identidade gaúcha, através das características da Estética do Frio apontadas por Ramil e dos artistas e/ou movimentos artísticos que a influenciaram, bem como através de artistas gaúchos ou que retrataram o gaúcho ou o gauchismo. Tal análise investigará também se a Estética do Frio se aplica a outros artistas e/ou outras manifestações artísticas, e acontecerá a partir dos conceitos de estilo, identidade, fantasia e identificação – ancorados na teoria psicanalítica (Freud-Lacan) – por meio de uma conjugação dos métodos genealógico e etnográfico, associados ao ensaio-como-forma.

Gauchos are identified as a people with remarkable singularities and differences: south-rio-grandenses are, before, gauchos and, later, Brazilians. Soil and climate contribute to this identity construction (COSTANTIN, 2004; REOLON, 2008). In this sense, the musician and writer Vitor Ramil highlights the importance of an "aesthetic of the cold", which would characterize this space and its culture. According to the author, the cold, defining the gaucho (as a significant of sul-rio-grandense), would produce a definitive metaphor, mainly because it touches all inhabitants of Rio Grande do Sul, in its heterogeneity, a pampas and mountain people, native and immigrant indigenous people, rural and urban, of snow and minuano. This work has as main objective to analyze the "aesthetics of the cold", as outlined theoretically by Ramil, and the materialization of this notion in his artistic - literary and musical work. Such a macro-analysis will serve as a specific objective to investigate the Gaucho identity, through the characteristics of the Cold Aesthetics pointed out by Ramil and the artists and / or artistic movements that influenced it, as well as through Gaucho artists or who portrayed the gaucho or the gauchismo. This analysis will also investigate whether the Cold Aesthetics apply to other artists and / or other artistic manifestations, and will proceed from the concepts of style, identity, fantasy and identification - anchored in psychoanalytic theory (Freud-Lacan) - by means of a conjugation of genealogical and ethnographic methods, associated with essay-as-form.
