Valoração de acervo bibliográfico : estudo de preservação do patrimônio histórico, cultural e científico de uma biblioteca universitária

Abstract

A pesquisa tem por objetivo propor uma metodologia para o estudo de valoração de acervo bibliográfico, enquanto patrimônio histórico, cultural e científico de uma instituição universitária, discutindo as teorias sobre valor aplicadas a esses acervos. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, pois a experiência da autora é relevante para o aprofundamento e a compreensão dos significados, crenças, valores e atitudes em relação aos processos ou fenômenos estudados. Para situar a pesquisa e o desenvolvimento da reflexão sobre o conceito de valor em coleções, a Teoria dos Campos, de Pierre Bourdieu, será utilizada como forma de abordagem, pois pode fornecer elementos para a análise do contexto histórico, social e político no qual essas obras foram geradas. A ênfase da pesquisa está direcionada à Coleção Histórica de uma biblioteca universitária, identificando valores através do resgate da memória de professores e pesquisadores dos campos da Comunicação e da Informação. Com as informações coletadas durante o estudo, sobretudo por meio das narrativas obtidas por meio das entrevistas com os pesquisadores, pode-se obter um panorama específico da questão sobre atribuição de valor ao acervo de livros de uma biblioteca universitária, para verificar quais fatores podem ser levados em consideração, no momento de analisar os itens que compõem a coleção. Essa análise deverá considerar a importância da coleção para o desenvolvimento da área do conhecimento a que pertence, bem como para compor, de forma fundamentada e justificada, o patrimônio geral da instituição.

The aim of this research is to propose a methodology for the study of the valuation of bibliographic collection, as historical, cultural and scientific heritage of a university institution, discussing the theories of value applied to these collections. This is a qualitative research, because the author's experience is relevant to the deepening and understanding of meanings, beliefs, values and attitudes in relation to the processes or phenomena studied. To situate the research and development of the reflection on the concept of value in collections, Pierre Bourdieu's Field Theory will be used as a way of approach, since it can provide elements for the analysis of the historical, social and political context in which these works were generated. The emphasis of the research is directed to the Historical Collection of a university library, identifying values through the rescue of the memory of professors and researchers of the fields of Communication and Information. With the information collected during the study, especially through the narratives obtained through the interviews with the researchers, a specific overview of the issue of value assignment can be obtained from the collection of books of a university library to verify what factors may be taken into consideration, when analyzing the items that make up the collection. This analysis should consider the importance of the collection for the development of the area of knowledge to which it belongs, as well as to compose, in a justified and justified manner, the general patrimony of the institution.
