O sujeito político na teoria feminista: articulações entre poder e autonomia

Abstract

O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o debate político feminista acerca da questão do sujeito. Essa análise será feita a partir das duas primeiras obras de Amy Allen, The power of Feminist Theory: Domination, Resistance, Solidarity (1999) e The Politics of Our Selves: Power, Autonomy and Gender in Contemporary Critical Theory (2008). Apesar da questão do sujeito só ser tratada explicitamente por Allen em sua obra de 2008, a estratégia adotada neste trabalho considerou essas obras conjuntamente. A partir disso, foi possível indicar não apenas com maior complexidade o percurso argumentativo que leva Allen às questões trabalhadas em sua obra de 2008, mas identificar um deslocamento teórico significativo entre elas. Tal deslocamento teórico foi investigado, entre outros fatores, a partir da valorização e subsequente afastamento de uma dimensão coletiva da ação política, encontrada pela autora sobretudo na obra de Hannah Arendt. Ao final, questionou-se diferentes linhas de leitura sobre o referido deslocamento teórico, bem como o significado que ele exerce em sua obra de 2008. A dissertação defende uma leitura conjunta de ambas as obras, que passam a ser compreendidas como partes de um projeto crítico mais amplo, o qual busca oferecer ao debate feminista uma compreensão aprofundada do sujeito político em seu registro tanto individual quanto coletivo.

The aim of this work is to analyze the feminist political debate about the question of the subject. This analysis will be based on the first two works of Amy Allen, The power of Feminist Theory: Domination, Resistance, Solidarity (1999) and The Politics of Our Selves: Power, Autonomy and Gender in Contemporary Critical Theory (2008). Despite the question of the subject to be only explicitly dealt with by Allen in her work of 2008, the strategy adopted in this work considered these two works of hers together. Therefore, it was possible to indicate not only with greater complexity the argumentative course that leads Allen to the questions discussed on her latter work, but also to identify a significant theoretical displacement between them. Such theoretical displacement was investigated, among other factors, from the valorization and subsequent withdrawal from a collective dimension of the political action found by the author, especially in the work of Hannah Arendt. Lastly, it was questioned different reading lines about the referred theoretical displacement, as well as the meaning that it exerts on her work of 2008. The dissertation argues for a joint reading of both works, which come to be understood as parts of a larger critical project, which seeks to offer the feminist debate an in-depth understanding of the political subject in both individual and collective registration.
