O Carandiru é caso de polícia: uma análise de reportagens sobre o condomínio Princesa Isabel no portal de notícias Correio do Povo

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo traçar como o portal de notícias Correio do Povo, um dos maiores portais de notícias da região e vinculado ao jornal mais antigo e tradicional de Porto Alegre, constrói seu discurso sobre o condomínio Princesa Isabel, comunidade da Zona Centro-Leste de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. O corpus desta pesquisa constitui-se de 39 matérias publicadas no Portal Correio do Povo entre 2009 e 2018 colhidas por meio do mecanismo de busca do Portal tomando como palavra-chave “Condomínio Princesa Isabel”. Metodologicamente, utilizamos a Análise de Conteúdo com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa de referentes ao nome do Condomínio, tais como Carandiru.Também foram analisados termos referentes às instituições de segurança e aos quantificadores de drogas oriundas de apreensões, para entender como se constitui o condomínio e quem são os protagonistas do discurso apresentado nas reportagens. Conclui-se que há uma produção de estigma negativo pelas reportagens acerca do território analisado, reduzindo-o a um caso de polícia, por escolhas lexicais, pelo espaço reservado a fontes quase que exclusivamente ligadas à segurança pública e pelo enfoque temático das matérias produzidas.

This research aims to trace how the online news portal Correio do Povo builds their journalistic speech over Condomínio Princesa Isabel, a center-eastern community of the city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, through the analysis of pieces of news which quote the same community. The corpus of this paper is composed by 39 pieces of news published on the online news portal Correio do Povo between 2009 and 2018. These writings were found through the Portal search engine by using the index Condomínio Princesa Isabel. This corpus is analysed based on Content Analysis, in which the quantitative and qualitative methods contribute together for a comprehensive understanding of social processes through the verification of specific words or expressions connected to the name of the building (Condomínio Princesa Isabel, Carandiru), the proper names of security institutions and/or quantifiers of drugs written in the news. Besides, it was analysed who were the main producers of the speech, which is expressed in the written News. Lastly, the research verified the production of negative stigma over the analysed territory, reducing it to a “police story”, through lexical choices, reliance on sources that are almost exclusively linked to public security sectors and the temathic focus of the produced material.
