Textile Concrete (TRC) refers to a fine aggregate concrete reinforced with multiaxial fabrics that may be comprised of glass, natural, basalt or polymer fibers. It is yet little investigated in regard to its utilization as an alternative for structural reinforcement. The present work aims at obtaining experimental results on the bending load capacity of strenghtend RC. Initial results of this approach were obtained by the experimentation of twelve reinforced concrete beams of reduced size, with a length of 130 cm (free span of 110 cm) and rectangular cross section of 7cm by 14cm, reinforced with different configurations of fabric concrete layers using different textile meshes available in the Brazilian market. The results obtained were compared to tests carried out regularly in the Laboratory of Experimental and Structural Models (LEME) from UFRGS which employed other more traditional reinforcement solutions such as steel plate bonding with epoxy, reinforced mortar and fiber reinforced polymers, reason why the geometry of the beam was chosen, being kept equal to that of the tests performed. It is also presented a design methodology available in the literature, used to verify the experimental results, seeking to ascertain if they are adequately quantified through the theoretical model adopted. Reinforcement provided increased load capacity, but the Brazilian fiberglass fabric presented worse performance than the Swiss one, of carbon fiber, a result already expected, since the Brazilian mesh has a density of reinforcement material smaller than the Switzerland, in addition to being made of a material with lower load capacity. The increase in the number of layers provided an increase in load capacity and the effectiveness of the use of anchorage can not be verified, mainly thanks to the geometric configuration and behavior of the structure tested. ...
