Construindo cidadania na educação de jovens e adultos : os desafios da formação política na EJA

Abstract

O presente trabalho tem como objetivo investigar o papel da escola na formação política dos educandos da EJA (Educação de Jovens e Adultos) enquanto sujeitos de direito. Para isso, buscou-se evidenciar o processo de formação da Escola Cidadã de Porto Alegre, destacando a formação do cidadão. Paulo Freire foi escolhido o autor principal das reflexões teóricas. A análise está centrada no que diz a Proposta Político Pedagógica (a qual consta no caderno pedagógico nº9 - um dos documentos que regem as escolas do município de Porto Alegre), livros e dissertações que versam sobre a formação da cidadania nos espaços escolares, bem como as obras que relatam como se deu a formação da Escola Cidadã. Constatou-se que a Proposta Político Pedagógica das escolas municipais de Porto Alegre dispõe de condições políticas para formar cidadãos conscientes. Entretanto, a pesquisa demonstrou que a proposta educacional mencionada está sendo desconstruída pelo governo vigente. A pesquisa consiste em um trabalho puramente bibliográfico e documental, sem análise de pesquisa de campo.

The present work aims to investigate the role of the school in the political formation of EJA (Youth and Adult Education) students as legal subjects. For this purpose, we sought to highlight the process of formation of the Citizen School of Porto Alegre, highlighting the formation of the citizen. Paulo Freire was chosen the main author of the theoretical reflections. The analysis is centered on what the Political Pedagogical Proposal says (which appears in pedagogical book nº9 - one of the documents that govern the schools of the city of Porto Alegre), and also source books and dissertations that deal with the formation of citizenship in the school spaces, as well as the works that report how the formation of the Citizen School took place. It was verified that the Political Pedagogical Proposal of the public city schools of Porto Alegre that was in force until the previous management has the political conditions to form critical and participative citizens. However, the research has shown that the aforementioned educational proposal is being deconstructed by the current government. The research consists of a purely bibliographical and documentary work, without the analysis of field research.
