Este trabalho tem por objetivo realizar o dimensionamento, execução e avaliação de um sistema de captação de água das chuvas, aplicando o recurso hídrico captado em um sistema de irrigação por gotejamento simplificado, visando atender a demanda de irrigação de uma horta orgânica, e por fim, avaliando a qualidade da água captada e o retorno do investimento realizado. Escolheu-se uma propriedade agrícola familiar, que realiza sua produção de forma orgânica, em local que facilitou a execução do projeto pelo autor. Foi realizada uma avaliação pluviométrica do local, utilizando-se o período crítico das séries históricas de precipitação para dimensionamento do reservatório do sistema, e sendo o sistema realizado conforme as normas técnicas referentes ao tema. Calhas, condutos, separadores da chuva inicial, filtro, reservatório foram dimensionados, e acoplado ao reservatório, foi instalado um sistema de irrigação por gotejamento caseiro. A água captada foi analisada, estando acima dos padrões especificados para o parâmetro de coliformes totais e termo tolerantes, demandando ainda uma ação corretiva, através da adição de hipoclorito de sódio em pequena dosagem, eliminando assim, conforme nova análise, a presença de coliformes. Foram instalados 6 ramais de irrigação na horta, os quais foram utilizados ao longo do segundo semestre de 2015. Foi estimado o tempo de retorno do investimento, sendo estimado que em aproximadamente 40 meses, a economia da demanda de água estipulada, associado ao aumento da produtividade causada pela irrigação da cultura principal da horta (morangos), paga o investimento realizado. O estudo conclui que na região avaliada existe grande disponibilidade hídrica a ser explorada com a captação das pluviosidades, porém a qualidade da mesma não é garantida como acredita o senso comum, necessitando de ações de monitoramento e correção, de acordo com o fim desejado. ...
