Emigrantes espanhóis no século XX : trajetórias individuais e história contemporânea

Abstract

Este artigo busca discutir como a história de indivíduos, em determinados processos de migração, conecta três planos de forças diferentes: opções individuais, condicionantes sociais e conjuntura política. A situação política da Espanha de meados do século, com repercussão internacional (Guerra Civil, ocupação do norte da África), associada ao contexto da Segunda Guerra Mundial, teve efeitos sobre os emigrantes, mas nem sempre foi a causa principal destas emigrações. Opções individuais também eram norteadas por padrões culturais (tradições familiares e valores de ascensão social) e circunstâncias econômicas.

This article tries to discuss how individual histories, in some migration processes, link three levels of different forces: individual choices, social conditioners and political context. In the middle of the XXth Century, the well-known political situation in Spain (Civil War, the occupation of Northern Africa) along with Second World War, had their effects on emigrants, but haven´t always been the main causes of these emigrations. Individual choices were also guided by cultural patterns (family traditions and values for social rise) and economic context.
