Este trabalho monográfico se ambienta nos estudos de comunicação organizacional e, mais precisamente, na investigação da arte como um dispositivo de imagem-conceito das organizações. A pesquisa se debruça sobre o Santander Cultural de Porto Alegre e sua programação, e tem como problema de pesquisa para resolver a problemática de como a arte, sendo um dispositivo de imagem-conceito para o Banco Santander, reflete as culturais locais e globais na programação do Santander Cultural. Desenvolve-se revisão bibliográfica sobre a noção de imagem-conceito (BALDISSERA, 2004, 2008, 2009) e discorre-se sobre as teorias que articulam as culturas locais e globais, e suas problemáticas (ORTIZ, 1994a, 1994b; HALL, 2001). Os procedimentos metodológicos empregados na coleta dos dados empíricos são a análise documental dos folders da programação e a entrevista semi-estruturada com representantes do Santander Cultural. Como principais resultados da pesquisa evidencia-se a caracterização do Santander Cultural como dispositivo de imagem-conceito, bem como reflete-se sobre as diferentes formas de representação das culturas locais e globais na programação cultural da instituição. ...
