Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)
Abstract
This paper will try to analyze the Game Theory and its applications in economic theory. Theory of games will be contextualized, for this it will present papers on games of the founders of the theory Émile Borel, von Neumann and Morgenstern. Will present the mathematical tools, the fixed point theorems, used to demonstrate the solution of games, the equilibrium point. Will be exposed aspects of the period that influenced, such as Hilbert’s formalist school, the founders of the theory, and how th ...
Will be exposed aspects of the period that influenced, such as Hilbert’s formalist school, the founders of the theory, and how the research agenda established by World War II influenced its development by mathematicians. Finally we will analyze the articles of the mathematician John Nash on Game Theory, demonstrating the solution concept for non-cooperative games, trying to interpret what the Nash Equilibrium responds and why it took some time to be studied by post-war economists. ...
