Uma análise sobre a manifestação da loucura na obra Hamlet, Príncipe da Dinamarca, de William Shakespeare

Abstract

A loucura aparece abundantemente na literatura ao longo da história, mas é em Hamlet, de William Shakespeare, que o seu confronto com a razão ganha uma das mais belas e dramáticas leituras. Este trabalho tem por objetivo investigar as relações da insanidade com os principais personagens da peça de Shakespeare, bem como identificar a tentativa da razão de interditá-la. Antes de estabelecer os limites entre loucura e razão, propomos outro olhar, menos maniqueísta, onde as duas se misturam e dividem a responsabilidade pelas atitudes das personagens na peça.

Insanity appears abundantly in literature over time. But it is in Hamlet, William Shakespeare, that its confrontation with rationality gets one of the most beautiful and dramatic readings. This study aims to investigate the relationship of the insanity with the main characters of Shakespeare's play, as well as we identify the attempt to the reason interdicts it. Before we establish the boundaries between madness and reason, we propose another look less manichean, where both are mix and share themselves the responsibility for the attitudes of the characters in the literary.
