Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

Researches on fish feeding have been paying special attention to the inclusion of vegetable lipid sources. In this setting, this research has developed diets with different vegetable oil sources to verify the performance on two species. They are: the piava Leporinus obtusidens (native), which belongs to the family Anastomidae and has had relevant contribution on the capture and commercialization of fish on lake Guaíba; and the Nile tilapia Oreochromis niloticus (exotic). The experiment was conducted in a weir of approximately 1,5 hectares at a farm in the city of Viamão. Eighteen net-tanks were utilized; they were attached to a fixed wooden platform and covered with a fine mesh net. The objective of this work was to evaluate the development: the Specific Growth Rate, the Daily Gain in fingerlings of piava and tilapia fed with growing levels of linseed oil, which has a high content of linolenic acid (C18:3n3), instead of corn oil, richin linoleic fatty acid (C18:2n6). At the beginning of the research, the piavas presented average weight and size of 3,71g and 7,4cm; the tilapias, 11,81g and 8,94cm. The animals were stocked in eighteen nettanks distributed randomly. The dietary plans were formulated with 40,33% of soybean meal, 27,78% of threshed corn, and 26% of poultry meal flour and vitamins and minerals premixes, being added 5% of corn oil T1 – 3/3 with substitution of T2 – 1/3 and T3 – 2/3 of linseed oil for both species. The food was offered in two meals a day. Biometrics was done every 14 days for an experimental period of 56days. The piavas grew more with the treatments where there was partial substitution of the corn oil for linseed oil. The tilapias did not present any differences in performance according to the treatment. ...
