A noção de identidade tem contribuição fundamental para o desenvolvimento do pensamento clássico ocidental. A noção de identidade tem contribuição fundamental para o desenvolvimento do pensamento clássico ocidental. No entanto, considerando o contexto da pós-modernidade, a noção de identidade mostra-se insuficiente para descrever a diversidade e multiplicidade humana. O processo de deslocamento da noção de identidade nos leva a questionar a centralidade dessa noção. Desse modo, o objetivo deste trabalho é problematizar a noção de identidade, articulando noções da Teoria Queer e elementos da narrativa da série Smallville, observando a possibilidade de encontrar elementos nesta série que nos ajudem a problematizar tal noção. Com isso, a partir da ideia de uma identidade desviante, e das figuras do armário e das instituições médicas como reguladoras da vida social dos sujeitos, busca-se examinar o modo como se articulam esses conceitos na pós-modernidade, considerando também, suas possíveis representações nos suportes midiáticos e do entretenimento. Verificou-se assim que, ainda que, tais representações estejam atreladas à lógica da Indústria Cultural é possível encontrar lugares de contradições e pontos de rupturas com as lógicas que instituem e legitimam certas identidades em detrimentos de outras, nos permitindo problematizar esquemas e processos que repercutem na marginalização e discriminação de sujeitos não legitimados na esfera social, uma realidade ainda bastante comum na atualidade. ...
