Areais do sudoeste do Rio Grande do Sul : o processo de arenização na localidade Rincão do Areal no município de Quaraí/ RS

Abstract

Este trabalho se refere aos areais do sudoeste do Rio Grande do Sul (RS), mais precisamente a região do Rincão do Areal ou simplesmente Areal no município de Quaraí. Arenização que ocorrem em diversos municípios desta região, principalmente nos Municípios de Alegrete, Rosário do Sul, Manoel Viana, Santana do Livramento, São Borja, Cacequi, Itaqui, Maçambará, São Francisco de Assis e Quaraí, áreas localizadas principalmente nas fronteiras com a Argentina e Uruguai, que se caracterizam por manchas de areais e dunas com uma extensão de mais de cinco mil hectares. Foi escolhida para enfocar este problema, a região do Areal localiza-se no primeiro distrito do município de Quaraí. Este distrito caracteriza-se por apresentar uma agricultura diversificada e com grande concentração de agricultores familiares, contando também com grandes propriedades. Foram realizadas a pesquisa bibliográfica e de campo, a pesquisa bibliográfica nos permitirá aprofundar o tema a partir de diferentes enfoques e a pesquisa de campo complementará a pesquisa bibliográfica com a coleta de dados junto a moradores da comunidade, foi aplicado um questionário em quatro Unidades de Produção Agrícola, assim denominados as propriedades que se localizam na área de maior incidência de areais, procurando identificar aspectos históricos, sociais, culturais e principalmente o que se tem feito para conter o processo e se é necessário que se faça algo bem como as perspectivas dessas famílias sobre a região.
