A agricultura familiar e o processo de industrialização no município de Picada Café

Abstract

Este estudo aborda o processo de industrialização no município de Picada Café e a forma como a agricultura familiar se estruturou diante desse processo. Assim, serão apresentadas as relações de trabalho entre a indústria coureiro/calçadista e a agricultura familiar do município, caracterizada por pequenas propriedades rurais e pela pluriatividade. A metodologia usada constitui-se de um levantamento de dados bibliográficos e da aplicação de entrevistas semiestruturadas a quatro grupos de pessoas residentes no município de Picada Café, enfocando-se as mudanças que a industrialização proporcionou à agricultura familiar local, sua situação atual e as perspectivas futuras para o desenvolvimento rural no município. Através da análise dos resultados, busca-se levantar as dificuldades de desenvolvimento da agricultura familiar, em razão, principalmente, da grande absorção de pessoas jovens do meio rural para o trabalho nas indústrias. Além disso, propõe-se a discussão sobre a pluriatividade e sua contribuição para o desenvolvimento do município e para a qualidade de vida de sua população.

This study approaches the process of industrialization in the city of Picada Café and how the family farm was structured from that process. Thus, we present the working relationship between the leather-footwear industry and family farming in the city, characterized by small farms and pluriactivity. The methodology used consisted of a survey of bibliographic data and the application of semi-structured interviews to four groups of people living in the city of Picada Café, focusing on the changes that industrialization brought to the local family farm, their current situation and prospects future for rural development in the municipality. By analyzing the results, we seek to raise the problems of development of family farming, due mainly to the large absorption of young people from rural areas to work in industries. Moreover, it is proposed to discuss the pluriactivity and its contribution to the development of the municipality and the quality of life of its population.
