This Course Completion Thesis analyzes the forms of action, rationalities, and meanings that coexist and articulate within the daily routine of the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Solidarity Kitchen, located in Vila Bom Jesus, Porto Alegre. In light of the dismantling of institutional public policies for Food and Nutritional Security, the study investigates how this peripheral food activism arrangement constitutes a space of resistance and active citizenship. Based on the theoretical articulation between Max Weber’s comprehensive sociology, Marcel Mauss’s gift theory, and Clifford Geertz’s interpretive perspective, the research adopts a qualitative ethnographic approach. The empirical production occurred through participant observation, field diary entries, and semi-structured interviews conducted between April and May 2026, mobilizing the methodological operators of "being affected" and "tension-thick description". The study uncovers a paradox in state action termed the "geopolitics of cooking gas," wherein the public sector provides raw inputs but privatizes the burden of the cooking infrastructure, thereby overburdening female bodies within the sexual division of care work. Furthermore, the investigation reveals the plasticity of the gift expressed through the tactical use of plastic containers and the charismatic tolerance of monetary simulations in the local piggy bank to maintain social bonds with the vulnerable body. Finally, immersion in the Worker's Festival exposes the spatial cleavage between established individuals and outsiders, highlighting the emergence of a "politics for itself" and a tactical electoral pragmatism operated by the community leadership to safeguard territorial autonomy. The study concludes that the solidarity kitchen subverts the instrumental rationality of the market and the precarious bureaucracy of the state, transmuting an abandoned chapel into a living laboratory of sovereignty, affection, and peripheral resistance. ...
