Professores universitários : o que pensam os alunos?

Abstract

A pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar a opinião de 392 alunos universitários aleatoriamente selecionados dos cursos de enfermagem, odontologia e medicina, da UFRGS, quanto às características do professor eficaz. O instrumento utilizado para a coleta de dados - Escala de Opinião sobre Professor Universitário Eficaz constante de 72 itens, foi elaborado especialmente para esta investigação com base em levantamento prévio junto a alunos informantes. Os dados foram analisados por meio de análise descritiva e, posteriormente, submetidos a análise fatorial que identificou 6 fatores componentes da eficácia do professor universitário: 1 - Participação do dezo, II Organização/Manejo de classe, III Clareza, IV Aceitação do aluno, V - Pontualidade e VI - Sistematização. Foi também utilizada a análise de variância cujos resultados mostraram haver diferença significativa entre a opinião de alunos, considerando os três cursos enfermagem, odontologia e medicina - no fator II - Organização/Manejo de Classe, fator IV - Aceitação do aluno e fator VI - Sistematização, tendo em vista as variáveis em estudo.

University teachers: What are the students' opinion? This research analysis the opinion of 392 randomly selected students of nursing, dentistry and medicine, at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRS), concerning the characteristics of an effective teacher. The instrument used to collect data was the "Effective University Professor Oppinion Scale", with 72 itens, which was specially developed for this investigation based upon a previous study with raw information from stu- dents of the above mentioned courses. Data treatment include descriptive statistics and factorial analysis which indicated six factors in theacher's effectiveness: I - Student Participation, II Classroom Organization and Management, III Teacher Clarity, IV - Student Acceptance, V - Punctuality and VI - Content Organization. Further, the results of the analysis of variance showed significant differences among the oppinion of students in the three programs (nursing, dentis- try and medicine) concerning factor II Classroom Organization and Management, factor IV - Student Acce- ptance, and ractor VI – Content Organization, taking into account the variables included in the investigation.
