Projeto de extensão ‘’ ATM sem restrições: conexão voz’’ : um relato de experiência

Abstract

O presente trabalho descreve a experiência do projeto de extensão universitária interdisciplinar “ATM Sem Restrições: Conexão Voz”, desenvolvido pelos cursos de Odontologia e Fonoaudiologia da UFRGS. O projeto oferece suporte terapêutico para pessoas transgênero atendidas no Ambulatório T da Secretaria Municipal de Saúde, com foco na avaliação e tratamento de Disfunção Temporomandibular (DTM) em pacientes que realizam terapia vocal para afirmação de gênero. A integração entre Fonoaudiologia e Odontologia possibilita uma abordagem segura e eficaz, garantindo que eventuais disfunções musculoesqueléticas não comprometam o processo de modulação vocal. Além da assistência clínica, o projeto promove a formação acadêmica crítica e ética, fortalecendo a prática extensionista e contribuindo para a inclusão social da população trans. Também se destaca a produção de materiais educativos, divulgação científica e a sensibilização para práticas inclusivas no atendimento. O trabalho reafirma o papel transformador da extensão universitária, ao unir ensino, pesquisa e compromisso social.

This paper describes the experience of the interdisciplinary university extension project “ATM Sem Restrições: Conexão Voz,” developed by the Dentistry and Speech-Language Pathology courses at UFRGS. The project provides therapeutic support to transgender individuals attended at the Ambulatório T of the Municipal Health Department, focusing on the evaluation and treatment of Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) in patients undergoing voice therapy for gender affirmation. The integration between Speech-Language Pathology and Dentistry enables a safe and effective approach, ensuring that possible musculoskeletal dysfunctions do not compromise the vocal modulation process. Besides clinical care, the project promotes critical and ethical academic training, strengthening extension practices and contributing to the social inclusion of the transgender population. Educational materials, scientific dissemination, and the promotion of inclusive practices in care are also highlighted. This work reaffirms the transformative role of university extension by combining teaching, research, and social commitment.
