Percepção do enfermeiro sobre a assistência ao paciente em cuidados paliativos

Abstract

Objetivo: Compreender a percepção do Enfermeiro no estar com o paciente em cuidados paliativos. Método: É um estudo transversal, exploratório descritivo, com abordagem qualitativa que procurou compreender o fenômeno do cuidado paliativo na percepção dos profissionais envolvidos. Resultados: Após várias leituras dos discursos, com base no objetivo e na semelhança das respostas, emergiram seis categorias temáticas: Cuidado Humanizado, Liderança, Sentimentos, Família, Cuidado Paliativo e Conforto. Conclusão: Os profissionais apontaram como fundamental, a participação familiar no processo e que as habilidades adquiridas por aprender a se ressignificar a cada dia, bem como entender suas limitações, contribuíram para entender melhor o processo de cuidar e minimizar o sofrimento durante a doença terminal. Este estudo sugere proposições para futuras pesquisas, tendo o propósito de evidenciar as necessidades encontradas durante a atuação do enfermeiro diante do processo de morte e a assistência a pacientes sem possibilidade de cura.

Objective: To understand the nurse's perception of being with the patient in palliative care. Method: It is a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach that sought to understand the phenomenon of palliative care in the perception of the professionals involved. Results: After several readings of the speeches, based on the objective and similarity of the answers, six thematic categories emerged: Humanized Care, Leadership, Feelings, Family, Palliative Care and Comfort. Conclusion: The professionals pointed out as essential, family participation in the process and that the skills acquired by learning to resignify each day, as well as understanding their limitations, contributed to better understand the process of caring and minimizing suffering during terminal illness. This study suggests proposals for future research, with the purpose of highlighting the needs encountered during the nurse's performance in the face of the death process and assistance to patients with no possibility of cure.
