Bem-estar para cães de trabalho de uma penitenciária no Rio Grande de Sul

Abstract

O objetivo é descrever as atividades desenvolvidas com os cães de intervenção no canil setorial da Penitenciária Estadual de Arroio dos Ratos (PEAR/SUSEPE-RS) visando a manutenção da saúde física e mental, bem-estar e qualidade de vida dos cães. Aponta-se o manejo pelos cinotécnicos na rotina do canil, promovendo assim um melhor engajamento nas missões em que atuam, bem como uma convivência mais equilibrada e saudável, garantindo assim seu bem-estar, acarretando em melhor performance na atuação com seu parceiro cinotécnico, além de evidenciar nestas atividades, as cinco liberdades: comportamental, psicológica, ambiental, sanitária e nutricional.

The objective is to describe the activities developed with the intervention dogs in the sectoral kennel of the State Penitentiary of Arroio dos Ratos (PEAR/SUSEPE-RS) aiming at maintaining the physical and mental health, well-being and quality of life of the dogs. The handling by the cynotechnicians in the kennel routine is pointed out, thus promoting a better engagement in the missions in which they work, as well as a more even and healthy coexistence, thus guaranteeing their well-being, resulting in better performance in working with your canine technical partner, in addition to demonstrating the five freedoms in these activities: behavioral, psychological, environmental, sanitary and nutritional.
