Fonoaudiologia e rock : uma revisão narrativa

Abstract

A voz é essencial para a comunicação e muitas vezes um instrumento de trabalho, destacando o papel do fonoaudiólogo na saúde e no treinamento vocal. No entanto, muitos profissionais desconhecem técnicas específicas do canto popular, como as usadas no rock. Esta revisão narrativa visa revisar as bases teóricas da anatomofisiologia vocal, examinar as distorções vocais intencionais e analisar a interface entre fonoaudiologia e rock, contribuindo para a literatura ao investigar essas técnicas e oferecer suporte a profissionais que trabalham com voz cantada. A busca foi realizada nas bases de dados Lilacs e Scielo e a seleção das publicações foi feita com base nos títulos e resumos, seguidos de análise crítica do autor. A maior parte das publicações concentra-se nas distorções vocais intencionais, destacando o crescente interesse de profissionais da fonoaudiologia por análises específicas relacionadas às técnicas vocais do rock. Além disso, a maioria dos estudos foram publicados nos últimos 10 anos. Os estudos analisados reforçam que as distorções vocais no rock são essenciais ao estilo e que seu domínio técnico pelos cantores é um elemento determinante para a interpretação nesse gênero musical, sem causar prejuízos à saúde vocal. A revisão destaca que o rock possui particularidades vocais que o diferenciam de outros gêneros populares, exigindo o estudo aprofundado da anatomofisiologia da voz para sua completa compreensão. No contexto da voz cantada, os estudos indicam que o canto é uma prática subjetiva, dependente das sensações do cantor sobre sua própria voz e de sua interpretação teatral. Contudo, a literatura apresenta discordâncias na nomenclatura dos ajustes vocais e distorções intencionais. Dentre essas técnicas, o Drive se destaca como a mais relevante no rock, com variações significativas. O interesse científico na fonoaudiologia relacionada ao rock cresceu significativamente na última década, com a maioria dos estudos focados nas distorções vocais intencionais. Isso reflete a necessidade de incluir o estudo da voz artística nos currículos acadêmicos, formando fonoaudiólogos preparados para trabalhar não apenas com a reabilitação clínica, mas também com a preparação vocal de artistas.

The voice is essential for communication and is often a working tool, highlighting the role of the speech therapists in vocal health and training. However, many professionals are unaware of specific techniques in popular singing, such as those used in rock. This narrative review aims to explore the theoretical foundations of vocal anatomophysiology, examine intentional vocal distortions, and analyze the interface between speech therapy and rock music. It contributes to the literature by investigating these techniques and providing support to professionals working with singing voices. The research was conducted in the Lilacs and Scielo databases, with publication selection based on titles and abstracts, followed by the author's critical analysis. Most publications focus on intentional vocal distortions, emphasizing the growing interest of speech speech therapy in specific analyses related to rock vocal techniques. Moreover, the majority of the studies were published in the last 10 years. The analyzed studies reinforce that vocal distortions in rock are essential to the style and that singers' technical mastery of these techniques is a determining factor for interpretation in this musical genre, without causing harm to vocal health. The review highlights that rock has vocal particularities that differentiate it from other popular genres, requiring an in-depth study of the voice's anatomophysiology for complete understanding. In the context of singing, the studies indicate that singing is a subjective practice, dependent on the singer's perception about their own voice and their theatrical interpretation. However, the literature reveals disagreements regarding the nomenclature of vocal adjustments and intentional distortions. Among these techniques, Drive stands out as the most relevant in rock music, with significant variations. Scientific interest in speech therapy related to rock music has grown significantly in the last decade, with most studies focusing on intentional vocal distortions. This reflects the need to include the study of artistic voice in academic curricula, preparing speech therapists to work not only in clinical rehabilitation but also in the vocal preparation of artists.
