Representações sociais dos jovens rurais acerca do trabalho na agricultura familiar e da vida no meio rural em Antônio Prado/RS

Abstract

O meio rural é permeado por diversas representações sociais que influenciam de forma intrínseca e extrínseca os sujeitos que ali vivem. Compreender as representações sociais do meio rural auxilia na verificação de como os sujeitos rurais se identificam enquanto agricultores, como se relacionam com os atravessamentos do mundo globalizado e como esses fatores influenciam na reprodução social da agricultura familiar. Desta forma, o objetivo deste estudo é o de analisar as representações sociais que os jovens, filhos de agricultores familiares, do município de Antônio Prado/RS, possuem sobre a vida no meio rural, sobre o trabalho na agricultura e sobre as perspectivas de sucessão geracional. Trata-se de um estudo realizado por meio de uma pesquisa qualitativa que utilizou uma combinação de diferentes métodos de coleta e análise dos dados: entrevista semiestruturada, Associação Livre de Palavras (TALP) e anotações em caderno de campo. Foram entrevistados 30 jovens rurais, 15 do gênero feminino e 15 do gênero masculino, com idade entre 15 a 24 anos, filhos de agricultores familiares que residem no interior do município de Antônio Prado. Os dados obtidos foram organizados em campos e subcampos, descritos e analisados por meio da Técnica de Análise do Conteúdo Temática de Bardin (2016). Como principais resultados visualiza-se que as representações sociais dos jovens rurais sobre a vida no meio rural e sobre o trabalho na agricultura possuem caráter favorável, despertando o interesse dos jovens rurais sucederem a unidade de produção familiar e perpetuarem a ocupação de agricultor.

The rural environment is permeated by various social representations that intrinsically and extrinsically influence the individuals who live there. Understanding the social representations of the rural environment helps to verify how rural subjects identify themselves as farmers, how they relate to the crossings of the globalized world and how these factors influence the social reproduction of family farming. Thus, the objective of this study is to analyze the social representations that young people, children of family farmers, from the municipality of Antônio Prado/RS, have about life in rural areas, about work in agriculture and about the prospects for succession generational. This is a study carried out through qualitative research that used a combination of different data collection and analysis methods: semi-structured interview, Free Word Association (TALP) and notes in a field notebook. Thirty young rural people were interviewed, 15 females and 15 males, aged between 15 and 24 years old, children of family farmers who live in the interior of the municipality of Antônio Prado. The data obtained was organized into fields and subfields, described and analyzed using Bardin’s Thematic Content Analysis Technique (2016). The main results show that the social representations of rural young people about life in rural areas and about work in agriculture have a favorable character, arousing the interest of rural young people to succeed the family production unit and perpetuate the occupation of farmer.
