Humanos admirantes e suas máquinas imaginalizadoras : artifícios para superar a dicotomia imagem/texto

Abstract

Dos artifícios e engenhos analógicos, passando pelo uso de ferramentas digitais e da ayahuasca, retoma-se a clássica discussão que propõe hierarquias entre imageme texto,ou entre o mostrar e o descrever, e reconsidera-se preceitos teóricos que dicotomizam, historicamente, as linguagens visuais e verbais, através do relato de um minicurso ministrado em 2023 para o Grupo de Pesquisa sobre Mídia, Literatura e outrasArtes, da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia, em Minas Gerais. Os participantes consideraram as catástrofesdeleuzianasgeradas por humanos admirantes e suas ‘máquinas imaginalizadoras’ ejuntos refletiramsobre possibilidades de superação das dicotomias presentes no tecido discursivo contemporâneo e tecnodiverso, cujas rupturas e costuras parecem propor outras formas de pensar e expressar, através de diferentes linguagens e mídias, a experiência de ser/estar no mundo.

From analog machines and other artifices to the use of digital tools and ayahuasca, we revisited the classic discussion that proposes hierarchies between image and text or between ‘showing or telling’. Through the report of a workshop teached in 2023 for the Research Group on Media, Literature and other Arts, at the Federal University of Uberlandia, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, we also reconsidered the theoretical precepts that historically dichotomize the visual and verbal languages. The participants and I discuss the Deleuzian catastrophes generated by admiring humans and their ‘imaginalizer machines’. Together, we reflect on different languages and media, and on the possibilities for overcoming the dichotomies present in the contemporary and technodiverse discursive fabric, whose ruptures and seams seem to propose other ways of thinking and expressing the experience of being in the world.
