Plants subject to periodic disturbances or requiring the tracking of sinusoidal references need controllers that ensure tracking and rejection of these disturbances with zero steady state error. Resonant controllers are suitable for this application due to the formal guarantees of tracking/rejection provided by the internal model principle. However, the di versity of plants and constantly changing dynamics challenge the design of controllers based on mathematical models, making data-driven methods such as Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) attractive, as they eliminate the need for detailed plant modeling. This work expands previous VRFT approaches for LPV systems by developing a methodology for designing resonant controllers in LPV plants. The proposed methodology, based on existing reference models, was validated through numerical simulations and proved effective in ensuring reference tracking and disturbance rejection. The results indicated that, due to the reference model used, the combination of resonant controllers with PD controllers can significantly improve performance, expanding the range of reference models that result in stable systems and reducing tracking error ...
