O bibliotecário e as práticas de incentivo à leitura : um estudo sobre as ações das bibliotecas escolares da rede particular de ensino de Porto Alegre/RS

Abstract

A biblioteca escolar é parte integrante da educação dos alunos e formação de leitores, atuando desde o apoio educacional até o incentivo à leitura de formas estimulantes para os alunos. Este trabalho tem por objetivo investigar como ocorre a atuação do bibliotecário no processo de incentivo à leitura, no âmbito das bibliotecas escolares da rede particular de ensino de Porto Alegre. Para isso, foi realizada uma pesquisa de caráter exploratório, utilizando como metodologia entrevistas semi estruturadas com três bibliotecárias atuantes em bibliotecas de escolas particulares de Porto Alegre. Os resultados desta pesquisa mostram que todas as bibliotecárias participam efetivamente das ações de incentivo à leitura que ocorrem nas escolas em que atuam e buscam promover momentos diversos de promoção da leitura visando aproximar os alunos da biblioteca escolar. Os resultados da pesquisa permitiram compreender como os bibliotecários das escolas escolhidas estão atuando para mediar e incentivar a leitura e o contato com a biblioteca. Espera-se, através deste estudo, ampliar as discussões e pesquisas a respeito da biblioteca escolar como agente de educação e, também, que outros bibliotecários possam se inspirar no trabalho realizado pelas bibliotecárias entrevistadas. Conclui-se que a biblioteca escolar atua sempre buscando melhorar seus serviços e aproximar-se da comunidade escolar. Os bibliotecários escolares devem ser reconhecidos por seu papel na educação de novos leitores e buscar sempre melhorias nos serviços da biblioteca, a fim de torná-la atrativa aos alunos.

The school library is an integral part of student education and reader training, acting from educational support to encouraging reading in stimulating ways for students. This work aims to investigate how the librarian's role occurs in the process of encouraging reading, within the scope of school libraries in the private teaching network of Porto Alegre. For this, exploratory research was carried out, using as a methodology semi-structured interviews with three librarians working in libraries of private schools in Porto Alegre. The results of this research show that all librarians effectively participate in actions to encourage reading that take place in the schools where they work and seek to promote different moments of reading promotion in order to bring students closer to the school library. The research results allowed us to understand how the librarians of the chosen schools are acting to mediate and encourage reading and contact with the library. It is hoped, through this study, to expand discussions and research regarding the school library as an agent of education, and that other librarians may be inspired by the work carried out by the librarians interviewed. It is concluded that the school library is always looking to improve its services and approach the school community. School librarians should be recognized for their role in educating new readers and always look for improvements in library services in order to make it attractive to students.
