O Discurso do agricultor ecologista sobre a biotecnologia

Abstract

Esta pesquisa teve como objeto de estudo o discurso do agricultor ecologista sobre a biotecnologia, analisado a partir de depoimentos de agricultores ecologistas que participam das feiras ecológicas organizadas pela Cooperativa Ecológica Coolméia de Porto Alegre. O referencial teórico foi construído de forma a recuperar a história da modernização da agricultura, com seus antecedentes e desdobramentos, bem como o surgimento das diversas correntes de agricultura ecológicas até o advento da Revolução Biotecnológica, enfocada a partir de suas relações com a Revolução Verde. O estudo do processo da globalização e o papel da mídia nesta dinâmica, foi necessário para compreender a complexidade desta nova era e sua relação com as transformações ocorridas na agricultura mundial. Através da Análise do Discurso, procurou-se verificar como o agricultor ecologista constrói o seu discurso sobre a biotecnologia. Para compor o universo discursivo sobre a biotecnologia considerou- se que o discurso do agricultor ecologista sobre a biotecnologia é atravessado, ou não, pelos discursos da Cooperativa Ecológica Coolméia, Fundação Gaia, Centro Ecológico, Pastoral da Terra, mídia, indústria, pesquisa oficial e da EMATER. Aplicando a tipologia de discursos proposta por ORLANDI, partiu-se da hipótese de que o discurso do agricultor ecologista sobre a biotecnologia sofre o cruzamento dos discursos lúdico, polêmico e autoritário, havendo uma sobredeterminação do tipo polêmico. Em termos práticos, a hipótese de trabalho foi a de que o discurso do agricultor ecologista sobre a biotecnologia é construído a partir das formações discursivas da Cooperativa Ecológica Coolméia, Centro Ecológico, Fundação Gaia e da Pastoral da Terra. A análise comprovou as duas hipóteses.

This research had as its study objective the orgaruc farmers' discourse on biotechnology, analysed from the statements of organic farmers who take part in the ecological street-markets organized by Porto Alegre' s Coolméia Ecological Cooperative. The theoretical referential was built so as to recover the history of agriculture modemization, with its antecedents and developments, as well as with the rise of diverse currents of organic agriculture until the coming of the Biotechnological Revolution, focused on from its relations with the Green Revolution. The study of the globalization process and the media role in this dynamics was necessary to understand the complexity of this new age and its relationship with the transformations ocurred im world agriculture. With the use of Discourse Analysis, there was the aim to ascertain how the organic farmers make up their discourse on biotechnology. To constitute the discourse universe on biotechnology, it was considered that the organic farmers' discourse on biotechnology is permeated, or is not, by the discorses of Coolméia Ecological Cooperative, Gaia Foundation, Ecological Centre, Pastoral da Terra, the media, industry, official research and EMATER. Through the application of the discourse typology proposed by ORLANDI, it was hypothesized thal the organíc farmers' discourse on biotechnology undergoes the intersection of the playful, polemical and authoritarian discourse and that there is a prevalence of the polemical kind. In practical terms, the work hypothesis was that the organic farmers' discourse on biotechnology is built from discoursive formations of Coolméia Ecological Cooperative, Ecological Centre, Gaia Foundation and Pastoral da Terra. The analysis confirmed the two hypotheses.
