Avaliação do conhecimento e preparo de cirurgiões-dentistas egressos de uma universidade do Sul do Brasil durante a pandemia para o atendimento odontológico em tempos de covid-19

Abstract

Objetivo: Analisar a atitude de dentistas egressos durante a pandemia em relação à prática profissional iniciada no mercado de trabalho diante da situação atual por covid-19. Material e métodos: Aplicouse um questionário online, por meio da plataforma Google Forms, com 12 questões abertas e fechadas a cirurgiões-dentistas egressos de uma universidade de Odontologia do Sul do Brasil durante a pandemia. O questionário foi estruturado a fim de analisar os cuidados inerentes ao atendimento de pacientes por dentistas que ingressaram no mercado de trabalho durante a pandemia por covid-19. Os dados coletados nos questionários foram transferidos para uma planilha Excel®. A análise dos dados ocorreu por meio de frequência absoluta e relativa. Resultados: A grande maioria dos profissionais realiza os atendimentos odontológicos em consultórios ou clínicas de terceiros (78,6%). Os respondentes relatam que houve modificação no protocolo de desinfecção e controle tanto da equipe de saúde envolvida (71,4%) quanto do ambiente físico (67,9%). Por outro lado, mais da metade dos respondentes admitiu não ter buscado treinamento prévio para enfrentamento da covid-19 (53,6%) e não ter conhecimento se a clínica na qual trabalha realiza um contato prévio com o paciente agendado a fim de saber a sua condição relacionada a covid-19 (57,1%). Conclusão: Os cirurgiões-dentistas recém-formados demonstraram certo grau de conhecimento e preocupação com os cuidados inerentes à desinfecção e ao controle da covid-19 na sua prática clínica tanto em relação à sua equipe de trabalho quanto ao ambiente físico de atendimento.

Objective: To analyze the attitude of dentists who graduated during the pandemic in relation to the professional practice initiated in the labor market in face of the current situation by covid-19. Material and methods: For this, an online questionnaire was applied, through the Google Forms Platform, with twelve open and closed questions to dentists who graduated from a dentistry university in southern Brazil during the pandemic. The questionnaire was structured in order to analyze the care inherent in the care of patients by dentists who entered the labor market during the covid-19 pandemic. The data collected in the questionnaires were transferred to an Excel® spreadsheet. Data analysis was performed using absolute and relative frequency. Results: The vast majority of professionals perform dental care in offices or third-party clinics (78.6%). Respondents report that there was a change in the disinfection and control protocol both of the health team involved (71.4%) and of the physical environment (67.9%). On the other hand, more than half of the respondents reported not having sought prior training to cope with covid-19 (53.6%) and not knowing if the clinic they work for makes a prior contact with the scheduled patient in order to know their condition. related to covid-19 (57.1%). Conclusion: Newly graduated dentists demonstrated a certain degree of knowledge and concern with the care inherent in the disinfection and control of covid-19 in their clinical practice, both in relation to their work team and the physical environment of care.
