Lost (and found) in translation : sociologias da tradução

Abstract

Esta apresentação pretende situar o(a) leitor(a) num debate relativamente recente, mas já bastante complexo, ao mapear o campo da Sociologia da Tradução e apresentar suas principais perspectivas teórico-metodológicas, que são, a nosso ver, a tradução cultural; a Teoria Ator-Rede (TAR), de Bruno Latour; e a sociologia bourdieusiana da tradução. Tais linhas de pensamento e pesquisa podem, por um lado, contrapor-se umas às outras, mas, por outro, também podem ser conjugadas, ampliando o escopo analítico e demonstrando seu caráter interdisciplinar.

This article is intended to situate the reader in a relatively recent though already quite complex debate, by mapping the field of sociology of translation and presenting its main theoretical-methodological perspectives, which are, in our view: cultural translation; the Actor-Network Theory, by Bruno Latour and Michel Callon; and bourdieusian sociology of translation. Such lines of thought and research can, on the one hand, contradict each other, but, on the other hand, they can also be combined, expanding the analytical scope and demonstrating its interdisciplinary character.
