Nina, uma sobrevivente : a história oral como abordagem para a reflexão sobre violência de gênero em contextos rurais

Abstract

O artigo analisa as relações entre gênero, violência e memória através da narrativa construída por uma mulher de 68 anos, trabalhadora rural do município de Lagoão, interior do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. De forma espontânea, sem que o tema fizesse parte de algum roteiro prévio da entrevista, Nina rememorou as situações de violência doméstica ocorridas em seu primeiro casamento, situado entre o final dos anos 1960 e os anos 1990. São memórias marcadas pelo sofrimento, tema ainda pouco visível na historiografia (Farge, 2011). Através da história oral é possível vislumbrar o modo como Nina elabora esse passado de violências, bem como seus modos de enfrentamento e resistências. O artigo busca, através das memórias individuais, discutir um problema de alto impacto social, considerando que a violência de gênero constitui uma guerra contra as mulheres, resultante da organização patriarcal das sociedades latino-americanas.

This article analyzes the relations between gender, violence and memory through a narrative constructed by a 68-year-old woman, a rural worker in a city called Lagoão, located in the countryside of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In a spontaneous way, without mentioning the theme or even preparing a previous script for the interview, Nina remembered situations of domestic violence in her life that occurred during her first marriage, between the late 1960s and the 1990s. They are memories marked by suffering, a theme still barely visible in historiography (Farge, 2011). Through oral history it is possible to glimpse how our protagonist Nina works through this past of violence, as well as these ways of coping and resistance. The article thus seeks, through individual memories, to discuss a problem of high social impact, considering that gender violence constitutes a real war against women, resulting from the patriarchal organization of Latin American societies.
